Community Defense 101
Neighbors Looking Out for Neighbors
Community defense begins with ordinary people knowing how to look out for one another. This free statewide training introduces participants to the history and purpose of community defense, including how neighbors can respond to immigration enforcement activity, voter intimidation, and other threats facing our communities.
Participants will learn how to:
OBSERVE • DOCUMENT • REPORT • ORGANIZE
You will leave with practical tools for identifying potential threats, safely documenting what you observe, reporting incidents through the appropriate channels, and connecting with others to strengthen community defense across Ohio.
No previous experience is required. The training is open to anyone who wants to help protect their neighbors and community.
All trainings are held virtually through Zoom.

La defensa comunitaria comienza cuando las personas sabemos cómo cuidarnos mutuamente. Esta capacitación estatal gratuita ofrece una introducción a la historia y el propósito de la defensa comunitaria, incluyendo cómo podemos responder ante operativos migratorios, intimidación de votantes y otras amenazas que enfrentan nuestras comunidades.

No necesitas experiencia previa. La capacitación está abierta a cualquier persona que quiera ayudar a proteger a sus vecinos y a su comunidad.
